A Level Results 2024
We are celebrating the success of our Year 13 cohort with the publication of this year’s A level and BTEC results. This remarkable group of young people have been a credit to themselves and Sidmouth College throughout their seven-year journey. The qualities that they have shown, commitment to their studies, positive attitudes to their learning, resilience, determination to succeed, support for each other, and desire to aim high, have meant that they are today finally able to see the rewards of their hard work. The results that our students have received today should now be celebrated, with the number of our A*-A grades increasing by 6%. All of the staff at the College are incredibly proud of all these students.
The importance of these results and qualifications is to provide options and opportunities for all students to further their education, training or employment. We work hard at Sidmouth College to foster a lifelong love of learning in all of our students and we are pleased that so many of them are continuing to further their education. A very large percentage of students will be moving onto university including Exeter, Reading, Bath, Manchester, Southampton and Bristol.
"I would like to thank all of the staff at the College for their continued dedication to our students, the high-quality teaching, learning and support that they have provided has enabled our students to be successful today, I would also like to thank our parent community who have worked alongside us in partnership over the last seven years. My final thank you goes to Mrs Sue Hurley and the team of tutors who have worked incredibly closely with the year group during this pivotal year providing ongoing support and guidance.
As with any year of results there are some individual successes that need to be highlighted”: they include:
Elsie Connick - Reading University - A*A*A (A*)
Mia Kirsch - UEA Medicine - A*AA (A*)
Poppy Teuton - Bristol University - AAA (A*)
Soren Hall - Leeds - AB
Charlotte Austin Rigby - Sports Coaching - D*D*BC

Mrs Hurley (Head of Sixth Form) writes:
An unbelievable set of students, who should be proud of what they have achieved this year. It must be remembered that the last four years have not been easy and the students have managed to successfully navigate all of the issues that have been thrown at them. Their results are a testament to their academic ability, resilience and determination to show what they are capable of. They have been an asset to the College and will continue to thrive in what they do post 16.
In addition to their academic studies, the year group have also been involved in a number of extracurricular activities, proving they are all round individuals who have developed excellent employability skills as a result.
Our students have been a credit to themselves, their parents and the Sidmouth College Community as a whole. I am going to miss them a great deal but I look forward to hearing about what they achieve during the next stage of their educational journey.
