Why Sidmouth College?
Choice of Courses
Choosing the right courses and qualifications to fit in with your long term plans is hugely important. At Sidmouth College, we cater for all interests and abilities. We also provide students with opportunities to develop a broad range of additional life skills and experiences through our strong commitment to extra-curricular activities, such as the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme and Ten Tors. It’s a unique mix that gives our students the best possible chance of achieving their career goals and developing into more rounded and confident adults.
Successful Outcomes
A Level results at the College continue to improve year on year with an overall 100% pass rate in 2017, 29% of whom achieved A*-A grades, 61% A*-B grades and 90% A*-C grades. All of our students achieved on or above their target grade.
"The classes are quite small so you get more support and 1:1 feedback." (Year 13 Student)
"I chose to stay at Sidmouth College because the teachers already know what my strengths and weaknesses are." Year 12 student
"The facilities and teachers are brilliant!" (Year 13 Student)
Personal Support
Our strength lies in the level of guidance and support we offer each student throughout their Sixth Form journey. From guidance with coursework and university applications to careers counselling and character development, we look after our students and make sure they are given the opportunities and support they need to achieve their goals.
"All of the opportunities have built on top of each other and are really building me as a person." (Year 13)
"The small class sizes mean I get more support from teachers." (Year 13)
Enviable Location
Sidmouth College enjoys an unrivalled position at the heart of a thriving community. We occupy a prime spot at Primley Road, just a mile from the sea front and nestled in the Sid Valley, overlooked by Sidmouth’s Peak, Trow and Salcombe Hills. We have the added advantage of Sidmouth Sports Centre being right on our doorstep.
Independent Facilities
Our Sixth Formers benefit from their own Common Room, Café and study areas, including an IT suite, Media suite and Dark Room for Photography. Further modernisation and improvements are planned.
"The cafe and Common Room are really good!" (Year 12)
